I'm a Microsoft Windows user since Windows 3.11. I always liked these
Microsoft products.
I'm in the process of authoring to the Scandinavian IT press, an
article concerning the client--server windowing systems, most
importantly the X Window System, and the venerable Microsoft Windows.
My sources say that the MS Windows has its own, proprietary window
system, which has been integrated into the Operating System.
I would like to ask to the group the following question. Does there
exist any (brief) documents in the public domain describing the
workings of the MS Windows in a level which would be roughly suitable
for some material for an IT magazine article?
Certainly there are there the API manuals, and plenty of similar
material, but I'm looking for some brief introduction to the MS
Windows windowing technology. I assume it is a client-server system?
